Anish Kapoor

Anish Kapoor (born 1954, Mumbai, India) is a British-Indian artist renowned for his innovative use of materials and exploration of form, space, and perception. Since the late 1970s, Kapoor has worked across a variety of mediums, including sculpture, installation, and public art, often employing materials such as pigment, stone, stainless steel, and wax. His signature style is characterized by abstract, often monumental forms that challenge viewers’ spatial awareness, as seen in iconic works like "Cloud Gate" (2004) in Chicago and "Sky Mirror" (2001). Kapoor’s fascination with voids, reflective surfaces, and the interplay of light and color has positioned him as a leading figure in contemporary art.

Kapoor has exhibited extensively at major institutions worldwide, including solo exhibitions at the Tate Modern (London), the Royal Academy of Arts (London), the Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao), and the Institute of Contemporary Art (Boston).
